CommSecIRESS support - Unable to login, gets stuck on loading page (Spinning Clock)
If you get 'stuck' on the loading screen with the clock spinning for over a minute as shown below and unable to login, this is most likely to be caused by outdated temporary files and cookies that you need to clear.
Instructions for clearing these files, depending on your operating system, are provided below.
Deleting temporary internet files (caches) and cookies from your web browser
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click the Tools menu (or 'alt+T') and select Internet Options
- Click the Delete button in Browsing History
- Select Temporary Internet Files and Cookies
- Click Delete, then close Internet Explorer and restart the browser
- Click Settings in the toolbar, then select Tools and Clear browsing data
- Ensure Obliterate the following items from is set to the beginning of time
- Enable Empty the cache and Delete cookies and other site data
- Click Clear browsing data, then close Google Chrome and restart the browser
- Open Safari
- Click the Safari menu and select Reset Safari
- Select Empty the cache, Remove all cookies and Close all Safari windows
- Click Reset
Deleting temporary internet files in Java
- Click on the Start menu and select Control Panel. (Please select Classic View for Windows XP or Large Icons in Windows Vista and Windows 7)
- Double click the Java icon
- Click the Settings button under Temporary Internet Files
- Click the Delete Files button
- Enable Applications and Applets and Trace and Log Files and then click OK
- Click on Apple icon on the top left hand corner
- Click the System Preferences icon
- Click on Java icon located under the Other section to open Java Control Panel
- In Java Control Panel click on Settings under Temporary Internet Files
- Click on the Delete Files button on Temporary Internet Files window
- This will open the Delete Files and Applications window, click OK to confirm delete
