What information do I need to apply for an SMSF account?

To help us process the application efficiently, here are a couple useful tips:

1 - Ensure you have the current details of all the entities and individuals for the application, including:

  • The SMSF (name, ABN)
  • All members of the fund (Name, phone number and email)
  • The corporate trustee if your fund has one (Name, ACN, ownership)
  • The directors of the corporate trustee (Name, email, phone)

2 - If you or any other applicants already have a CommSec or CBA account, please ensure your personal information is up to date. We’ll verify information provided in your application with information shared within the CBA Group, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If the information does not match (e.g. old address) this may slow the progress of completing the application process.

3 - Make sure the ATO has updated information for your fund and your fund is in a ‘complying’ status. If your SMSF is a new fund it may take some time to be registered with the ATO and may delay your application being completed.
